Ants control in Auckland
Ants are the pest people most often try to deal with themselves, and the pest that most often comes back. The reason is simple: surface sprays kill the ants you can see while leaving the nest - and the queen - untouched, so the trail returns within days. Auckland has several problem species including Argentine ants, which form very large interconnected colonies and are particularly difficult to shift. Ants come indoors looking for food and moisture, which is why kitchens, pantries and bathrooms are the usual flashpoints, especially through the warmer months.
Signs you have ants
- Defined trails along benchtops, skirting or window frames
- Ants appearing around pet bowls, bins or the dishwasher
- Small piles of fine soil or debris at cracks, paving joints or wall bases
- Winged ants indoors, usually a sign of a nest reaching maturity
Why it matters
- Contamination of food and food preparation surfaces
- Argentine ants displace native insects and are very hard to eradicate once established
- Some species nest in wall cavities and insulation
- Persistent trails in a commercial kitchen are a compliance issue
How we treat ants
- 1
We identify the species, because Argentine ants and common household ants need genuinely different approaches.
- 2
Treatment is designed to be carried back to the nest rather than just killing foragers on the surface.
- 3
We trace trails to entry points and nest sites rather than treating the visible trail alone.
- 4
We advise on the food and moisture access that keeps drawing them in.
What our customers say
“It was the Sunday of a long weekend, and after having set off multiple bombs and cleaning for hours we realised we needed to get someone in. I expected to leave messages and hear back on the Tuesday - but no. Marie phoned me back about 15 minutes after I left the message. Half an hour later she called back - she had found one of your workers to come and spray our house that day. On a long weekend, on a Sunday, and at no extra cost. We were in a pretty dire situation, and the kindness and efficiency made the world of difference. The roaches moved out, and we now have a clean, happy home.”
“It's really hard when you've never had any pest issues before to know where to start. I rang several different companies but Marie's lovely calming and reassuring manner helped me choose you guys. Both Mike and Stuart have been fantastic to deal with - Mike has taken quite a few phone calls from me, I called him my bed bug counsellor! You've made a horrible stressful situation seem like it was all under control.”
