Mosquitoes control in Auckland
Mosquitoes breed in standing water, and it takes remarkably little of it: a saucer under a pot plant, a blocked gutter, an unused wheelbarrow, a pond without fish. Auckland's warm damp summers and high rainfall make this easy, and the breeding sites are almost always on the property or immediately next door rather than somewhere distant. Because of that, mosquito control is mostly about finding and removing the water rather than spraying the air. New Zealand does not have the mosquito-borne diseases found in the tropics, so the issue here is nuisance and disturbed sleep rather than serious illness.
Signs you have mosquitoes
- Biting activity concentrated around dawn and dusk
- Larvae - small wrigglers - visible in any standing water on the property
- Activity worst near ponds, water tanks, blocked gutters or dense damp planting
Why it matters
- Bites are itchy and can become infected from scratching
- Some people react strongly to bites
- Disturbed sleep and unusable outdoor areas in summer
How we treat mosquitoes
- 1
We identify breeding sites on the property - this is the part that actually solves it.
- 2
Treatment can target resting areas in dense shaded planting where adults shelter during the day.
- 3
We advise on the drainage, guttering and water-storage changes that remove the breeding sites for good.
What our customers say
“It was the Sunday of a long weekend, and after having set off multiple bombs and cleaning for hours we realised we needed to get someone in. I expected to leave messages and hear back on the Tuesday - but no. Marie phoned me back about 15 minutes after I left the message. Half an hour later she called back - she had found one of your workers to come and spray our house that day. On a long weekend, on a Sunday, and at no extra cost. We were in a pretty dire situation, and the kindness and efficiency made the world of difference. The roaches moved out, and we now have a clean, happy home.”
“It's really hard when you've never had any pest issues before to know where to start. I rang several different companies but Marie's lovely calming and reassuring manner helped me choose you guys. Both Mike and Stuart have been fantastic to deal with - Mike has taken quite a few phone calls from me, I called him my bed bug counsellor! You've made a horrible stressful situation seem like it was all under control.”
