Clothes Moths control in Auckland
Clothes moths are small, drab and easy to overlook, and like carpet beetles it is the larvae that cause the damage rather than the adult moth you see fluttering out of a wardrobe. They feed on wool, cashmere, silk, felt and other natural fibres, and they favour exactly the things that get stored and forgotten - winter coats, blankets, suits, rugs under furniture. Soiled fabric is more attractive to them than clean, so garments put away without washing are the usual first casualties. By the time an adult moth is flying, the damage is generally already done.
Signs you have clothes moths
- Irregular holes in wool, cashmere or silk garments
- Fine silken webbing or small cases in wardrobe corners and on fabric
- Small drab moths that crawl or flutter rather than fly to lights
- Damage concentrated in stored, undisturbed clothing
Why it matters
- Permanent damage to expensive natural-fibre clothing
- Damage to rugs, blankets and upholstery
- Infestations spread quietly between stored items
How we treat clothes moths
- 1
We treat wardrobes, storage areas and the undisturbed spots where larvae feed.
- 2
We look for the reservoir - a forgotten rug, a stored blanket or a wool item at the back of a cupboard is usually the source.
- 3
We advise on cleaning and storage, because clean, sealed storage is what actually keeps them out long term.
What our customers say
“Stewart came and sprayed our home today for pantry moth. What a lovely man he was, so friendly and efficient. I was impressed with the service - a friendly phone lady, a friendly text message, a friendly man, and I came home to a warning on my door. I am thoroughly impressed.”
“It was the Sunday of a long weekend, and after having set off multiple bombs and cleaning for hours we realised we needed to get someone in. I expected to leave messages and hear back on the Tuesday - but no. Marie phoned me back about 15 minutes after I left the message. Half an hour later she called back - she had found one of your workers to come and spray our house that day. On a long weekend, on a Sunday, and at no extra cost. We were in a pretty dire situation, and the kindness and efficiency made the world of difference. The roaches moved out, and we now have a clean, happy home.”
