Rodents control in Auckland
Rats and mice come indoors looking for the same three things: shelter, food and water. In Auckland they most often turn up in roof cavities, wall voids and subfloors, and they are far more common in built-up suburbs than most people expect. Rodents are not just unpleasant - they gnaw wiring and pipework, contaminate food and insulation, and carry disease and parasites including fleas and ticks. A rodent problem also rarely stays small: rats and mice breed quickly, so the gap between noticing something and having an established population is short.
Signs you have rodents
- Scratching or scurrying in the ceiling, usually at night
- Droppings along skirting boards, in cupboards or in the roof space
- Gnaw marks on food packaging, timber, cables or pipework
- A persistent musky smell in an enclosed space
- Greasy rub marks along walls and beams where rodents travel
- Disturbed or nested insulation
Why it matters
- Chewed electrical wiring is a genuine fire risk
- Contamination of food, food preparation surfaces and stored goods
- Rats and mice carry disease and bring in fleas, mites and ticks
- Damage to insulation, pipework and building materials
- For food businesses, a rodent sighting can put your verification at risk
How we treat rodents
- 1
We inspect the property to work out what you have, how many, and how they are getting in - the entry point matters more than the bait.
- 2
Treatment is placed where rodents actually travel, in tamper-resistant stations where children, pets or stock are a consideration.
- 3
We identify the proofing work that will stop them coming back, and tell you what needs doing even where it is not work we carry out.
- 4
For ongoing problems, or for commercial sites, we set up a monitoring programme rather than a one-off treatment.
Treatment clears them. Proofing keeps them out.
If rodents keep coming back, the entry point is still open. We find every way in and seal it properly.
What our customers say
“It was the Sunday of a long weekend, and after having set off multiple bombs and cleaning for hours we realised we needed to get someone in. I expected to leave messages and hear back on the Tuesday - but no. Marie phoned me back about 15 minutes after I left the message. Half an hour later she called back - she had found one of your workers to come and spray our house that day. On a long weekend, on a Sunday, and at no extra cost. We were in a pretty dire situation, and the kindness and efficiency made the world of difference. The roaches moved out, and we now have a clean, happy home.”
“It's really hard when you've never had any pest issues before to know where to start. I rang several different companies but Marie's lovely calming and reassuring manner helped me choose you guys. Both Mike and Stuart have been fantastic to deal with - Mike has taken quite a few phone calls from me, I called him my bed bug counsellor! You've made a horrible stressful situation seem like it was all under control.”
