Why nobody publishes a price list

Any pest control company quoting a flat rate before knowing what you have is either guessing or pricing in a buffer to cover the worst case. Neither helps you.

A single accessible wasp nest and a bed bug treatment across three bedrooms are not comparable jobs, and pretending otherwise means someone is overpaying.

What actually moves the price

• Which pest - bed bugs and borer are more involved than a general spray
• How established it is - a new problem costs less than one that's been building for a year
• Property size and access - a large or difficult subfloor or roof space takes longer
• One-off treatment versus an ongoing programme
• Whether follow-up visits are genuinely needed (bed bugs and heavy cockroach or flea infestations usually do, because eggs survive the first treatment)
• Whether proofing work is needed to stop it recurring

Where people most often overpay

Two patterns. The first is paying repeatedly for treatment on a problem that keeps returning because nobody dealt with the entry point - three call-outs for rodents, when closing one gap would have ended it.

The second is being sold a follow-up that isn't needed. Some jobs genuinely need a second visit timed to an egg hatch; plenty don't. We'll tell you which before you commit rather than after.

Free, and firm before any work starts. If we think it'll need more than one visit, you'll know that at quote stage. If we think you could deal with it yourself, we'll say that too - it costs us a job and saves you a call-out fee.
