Bed Bugs control in Auckland
Bed bugs are one of the most distressing pests to find, and one of the least related to how clean a house is - they arrive in luggage, second-hand furniture, or from an adjoining unit, and they establish anywhere people sleep. They hide in mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, skirting and behind anything fixed to a bedroom wall, coming out at night to feed. They are also genuinely difficult to eradicate, which is why half-measures usually make things worse by scattering the population deeper into a building. If you think you have them, it is worth getting the identification confirmed before doing anything.
Signs you have bed bugs
- Bites in a line or small cluster, often on arms, shoulders or legs
- Small dark spots on sheets, mattress seams or the bed frame
- Tiny blood smears on bedding
- Shed skins or live insects in mattress seams and headboard joins
- A sweet, musty smell in a badly affected room
Why it matters
- Bites cause irritation and, for some people, a strong allergic reaction
- The sleep disruption and anxiety are often worse than the bites
- They spread readily between rooms and adjoining units
- For accommodation businesses, a single confirmed case is a reputational problem
How we treat bed bugs
- 1
We confirm the identification first - a lot of suspected bed bug cases turn out to be something else, and the treatment is too involved to run on a guess.
- 2
Treatment covers the whole harbourage area, not just the bed: frames, skirting, adjacent furniture and anything fixed to the wall.
- 3
We give you clear preparation instructions beforehand, because preparation makes a substantial difference to the result.
- 4
A follow-up visit is standard rather than optional, to catch eggs that hatch after the first treatment.
What our customers say
“It's really hard when you've never had any pest issues before to know where to start. I rang several different companies but Marie's lovely calming and reassuring manner helped me choose you guys. Both Mike and Stuart have been fantastic to deal with - Mike has taken quite a few phone calls from me, I called him my bed bug counsellor! You've made a horrible stressful situation seem like it was all under control.”
“We had a bed bug infestation in our apartment after a weekend away.
